Living Room

My client had his townhouse painted in these wonderful colors and was ready for some living room furniture. We started with a comfortable leather sofa and then added a rug to tie in with the wall colors as well as chairs and a coffee table.

The chairs can also be grouped in front of the window for variety or entertaining needs.

The woodwork on the chairs looks nice from any angle.

Accent pillows add interest and make the chairs extra comfortable.

My client from my previous post “Modern Neutrals” moved into a townhouse that we have been working on. We purchased a few new candles and holiday items and mixed them with things he already owned.

My clients from my posting “Fall!” moved to a beautiful new home.  We worked together to place pieces that they already owned as well as adding some new pieces and accessories for a fresh look in their new home.

Main floor hallway looking into the living room.

The rug, vase and ginkgo art are previous purchases.

Living Room

We centered the sofa in front of the fireplace and layed a new cowhide rug over a sisal rug they had in storage.  The sofa and chairs are purchases from the last house.  New pillows add color and texture.

Pillows add color and texture.

New vases and ginkgo branches add interest over the fireplace.

Next to the conversation area in the living room is the perfect reading area.

They already owned the side table and oversized chair and ottoman.  We added a textured orange pillow and this wonderful bookshelf.

Kitchen/Dining Table.

My clients sanded their beautiful outdoor table and bench and we used them as the dining table.  New leather chairs add more seating.

Tabletop.

New cork place mats, a banana leaf tray, textured balls and a seasonal leafy garland add interest.

Guest Bedroom/TV Room.

We bought a new coverlet, shams and decorative pillows to dress up the guest bed which also doubles as a comfortable place to watch TV.

TV stand.

A  nice picture arrangement above the TV.

Powder Room.

Favorite black and white prints and a splash of colorful flowers dress up the powder room.

Halfway up the stairs.

Halfway up the stairs was the perfect spot for a much loved rug, a comfortable ottoman and some family photos.

Master Bedroom.

A new canvas print of a favorite piece of art ties in with a pretty bowl and vases.

Master Bath.

A much loved print finds a new home in the master bath.

A new orchid looks pretty and spa like in the master bath.

Monkey Bathmat in the Childrens' Bathroom.

This monkey bathmat that they already owned was the inspiration for the monkey themed bathroom.

A family friend found this cute monkey decal.

New paint on the right wall

Living Room with new carpet

Carpet, rug and paint details

My sister bought my parents’ 40 year old house and so, of course,  it was time for some updates.  The Living Room has a beautiful stone fireplace, a wood feature wall and a fantastic view.  We replaced the 30+year old blue shag wall to wall carpet with a neutral color carpet, added paint(so far, only one wall is painted) and rearranged the furniture.  To define the space and add some pattern to the room, we used a pretty black patterned carpet that my sister already owned along with some of her pillows and lamps.  The rest of the furniture was already in the house, ready to be rearranged.

Modern Neutrals

My client purchased a beautiful condo–the finishes were gorgeous–the elevator opened to his entryway of  hand chiseled Travertine and moved on to Michelangelo floors, a view of the water and so much more.  What a treat to work in such a space.  My client wanted to play with a palette of neutrals–brown, beige, tan, black and so forth.  Masculine, clean and comfortable for entertaining or relaxing.

This was especially fun because with the exception of a few accessories, we started from scratch.  Here we have the entry with a clean lined cherry console, a nice thick rug and a mix of textures and neutrals set the stage for the rest of the home.

Dining Room

The entry opens to the kitchen and dining room where we continued our use of clean lines, neutrals and a mix of textures for interest.

Dining Room & Living Room

The kitchen, dining room and living room are connected and needed to flow together.  A Chilewich runner adds some modern texture.  Planters with jade plants bring some nature into the room.

Living Room

Travertine top tables and comfortable seating.

Living room

A pair of tall floor mirrors reflect the view.  My client found this wonderful art in a Seattle restaurant and bought it on the spot.

Office

The home office has a view (makes work so much nicer!)  A Stendig wall calendar lets you know the date at a glance.  We chose a classic rug in beautiful browns and other neutrals.  The chairs are comfortable and light enough to carry to the living room for extra seating.

Home Theater

The home theater room is off the kitchen.  My client had a media wall installed with beverage coolers and a projection screen.  We added a deep, comfortable sofa and comfortable leather chairs with low backs that can be easily turned around if needed.  The reclaimed wood coffee table adds texture as do the shag rug and ash wall art.

Home Theater

The screen door opens onto a deck.  He had blackout shades installed for summer time movie viewing.

Master Bedroom

Light furniture, a big leather chair and metal wall art play off the beautiful fireplace in the master bedroom.
